About the photograph

A pale blue-violet wedge meets a low horizontal line, spreading between two darker fields. Its diagonal edge is clear enough to guide the eye but soft enough to dissolve into the surrounding colour. The image rests on that balance between a simple geometric shape and an uncertain surface.
